Cuban junior champion and International Master in 1978, Lexy Ortega spent eight years in Cuba as technical director and coach, winning approximately 50 international tournaments. He mentored Walter Arencibia, the 1986 world junior champion, and coached the Mexico and San Marino Olympic teams. In 2000 he became an International Grandmaster and had the privilege of training Daniele Vocaturo. In 2008, Lexy Ortega captained and coached the Italian women's Olympic team in Dresden, achieving their best result ever. In 2009 he became Absolute Italian Champion. From 2011 to 2017, he was Technical Commissioner of the women's sector, and since 2020 he has been Federal Manager of the youth sector and Director/Instructor of the Federal Chess Academy. JESPER HALL

Jesper Hall is an IM and FIDE Senior Trainer who has worked as a trainer and project manager for chess for 25 years. His driving force is to explore how to teach chess in the best way depending on goal and context. He has been in charge of the talent programs Team Sweden and Team Norway, building up training structures for talents in Norway and Sweden. Since 2014 he is the chairman of ECU Education, developing new methods for teaching chess in schools. He has written 18 chess books on chess training, and his most prominent student is Magnus Carlsen. Today he is coordinator of The level-up program, but is also content manager for noctie.ai the leading AI-company for chess coaching.

 

Pierluigi Piscopo

Pierluigi currently holds the role of teacher at the Italian Federal School, he founded and directs the Regional School of his region, Puglia, and is highly appreciated as a journalist and commentator.
