Immerse yourself in the world of chess with our intensive Level-Up program, a stimulating five-day event designed for youths and adults (with an Elo rating of 1700 and above) who wish to take their game to the next level, as well as for instructors seeking innovative teaching methodologies and educational inspiration. Situated in the picturesque Bardonecchia, Italy, this 30-hour course will guide you through a journey of learning and growth under the guidance of some of the brightest minds in the international chess community. During your stay in Bardonecchia, you will have the unique opportunity to train and learn teaching methodologies from top-level instructors such as Ramesh R.B. (GM), Lexy Ortega (GM), Jesper Hall (IM), Pierluigi Piscopo (IM), and Sebastiano Paulesu (CM). Every day will be enriched with intensive training sessions, opening analysis, free play matches, and group activities, including physical exercises designed to create a well-rounded experience. The course experience will also be enhanced by a blitz tournament, where all our instructors will participate, as well as a simultaneous exhibition match on the final day. But it’s not just about chess! We will create a positive and inclusive environment where you can have fun, make new friends, and build lasting connections with other chess enthusiasts from around the world. Groups:A = Elo rating from 2150 to 2349 B = Elo rating from 1900 to 2149 C = Elo rating from 1700 to 1899. We reserve the right to accept applications from players with lower Elo ratings who justify their request with a motivation letter, taking into account the player’s age and chess background. Basic Information:The course will be conducted in Italian and English. Different schedules are planned according to the respective groups. Every day there will be six hours of chess activities and two hours of additional activities, including physical exercises and sightseeing. Further information, including specific details about the topics covered, will be provided later based on registrations. The group assignments will be determined by the team of instructors, and all groups (A, B, and C) will receive training at the Olympic Village in Bardonecchia. The schedule will approximately be as follows: 9:00-13:00 and 15:00-19:00, every day from June 21 to June 25, inclusive.
Minors Unaccompanied:For unaccompanied minors, it will be necessary to obtain a liability release form from their parents, covering all activities and moments outside of the chess training sessions. We reserve the right not to accept minors under the age of 12 unless accompanied. In such cases, a prior email request must be sent to camp2025@alfierebianco.com. Throughout the entire duration of the camp, a tutoring staff composed of Educators will be present to supervise the minor participants during all scheduled activities.
Insight for instructors and adult players: In addition, for instructors and adult players who are interested, there will be a dedicated one-hour meeting every day from 17.30 to 18.30 with Jesper Hall and Ramesh R.B. for an in-depth discussion of teaching techniques to young players and as a question/answer session with participants, included in the registration fee.
Extra-Curricular Sports Activities: We will provide more detailed information closer to the event regarding the recreational and sports activities, which will be exclusively designed for the young participants.
Location:The course will take place at the Olympic Village in Bardonecchia, where participants can stay with either half-board or full-board accommodation. Alternatively, accommodations are available at the Hotel Ca' Fiore **** in Bardonecchia, also offering half-board or full-board options.
Packages:Accommodation (for six nights): Prices range from €550 to €1132 per person, depending on the type of facility, board, and room selected. The cost includes the registration fee for the course. Accommodation for accompanying guests: Prices range from €300 to €882 per person.
